What the hell happened?
Over night, the hipster moustache movement took the fashion world by storm almost over night. Suddenly it was everywhere. Everyone, men and women, wanted a moustache somewhere be it on their faces, fingers or fabrics. Where did it come from though? Is it here to stay? Those finger tattoos certainly are.
The hipster moustache, ironic in its origin, was originally started in an attempt by hipsters to NOT fit in. The end result of this attempt? A massive trend that swept the fashion world and now cannot be escaped. Instagram is riddled with moustaches and vintage inspired graphics are almost incomplete without one.
In the town where I live, Healdsburg, Ca, there is an amazing bakery called Moustache. They specialize in gourmet cupcakes and have an awesome vintage aesthetic that, when paired with this great moustache trend makes for a hip and unique place to grab some good sweets.
I LOVE the new styles of wine glass markers. With a simple suction cup on the back, designers have been making a great new splash in the wine world. Instead of having some dangley medallion around the stem of your wine glass, you can have cute, individualized markers so that you never have to try too hard to remember which glass is yours. These markers to the left from Etsy.com are made in this suction cup fashion. You can position your moustache marker so that when you’re sipping, you have the perfect stache to match.
Even the tiniest of designs make a big splash in the moustache world. These adorable studs pictured below make for a nice little hipster pop in any outfit.
Keep an eye out for neat products like this! They’re everywhere right now and it will be interesting to see where they go in the future. Will the moustache fade out soon? And what will replace it? Let’s hope it’s not a soul patch.
